Repeat Prescriptions

Please use the white repeat list issued with your green prescription. We will accept repeat prescriptions by telephone only in exceptional cases. Please let the receptionist know if you consider this to be the case.

Please allow 48 hours for repeat ordering but we would appreciate as much notice as possible, particularly in holiday times.

If requested, we will ensure delivery of your prescription to a named chemist. We will also send your prescription to your address upon receipt of a stamped addressed envelope.

On occasion, a repeat prescription may be refused by the receptionist and you will be asked to see a doctor. This is done for your own protection and to monitor your illness and medication.

Please accept the offer of this appointment in the way it is intended.

You will need to see the doctor or nurse for repeat prescribing of the contraceptive pill and HRT medication. Repeat prescriptions can be ordered on line. Follow the link on the website.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
